Savor the Season- Spring

photo-1

Hello Wonderful Souls!

Spring is here (or just about) over this direction! While I usually  I am a much bigger fan of the Fall Season. I am ready for Spring and the clean slate it can bring more than ever this year!

Each each  I seek more and more to ways to savor season in all sorts of ways.

Ways to Savor Spring:

-Do a photo project capturing views of the season, like the beautiful blossoms that happen for such a short time or the progression of blooms that surround you.Or choose another creative project  that helps you document the beauty of the season (like drawing things of the season, noting the beautiful spring sounds etc)

-Go to your local Farmers Market and while there: Check out the fruits and veggies of the season (ask the vendors), Pick up some flowers to brighten your space.

-Plant something ( I am planning a mini succulent “garden” maybe just maybe something from a seed to grow as well)

-Get some fresh air

-Buy a little treat for yourself in a favorite spring inspired color! (this does not have to be pricey)

-Buy some fun cleaning supplies or a new green/eco cleaner to do your spring cleaning

-Choose at least 1 spot in your home or life to declutter and  Spring Clean (this can be your closet, a drawer, digital areas, letting go of shoulds, books, relationships etc)

How do you like to Savor the Season?

Allowing Space-Journal Prompt

IMG_9280

Hey Beautiful Souls!

Something that has been coming up more and more for myself and in conversations in my life is to allow space for “it“. “It” healing, dreaming, connecting, allowing, releasing (any or all the above!)

So todays prompt is to really give yourself some space and time in your journal to  reflect on what you need to allow the space for…

For me, I am needing to allow space in my head by letting go (for now) of a certain picture of a dream I had, I am not sure this dream the way I have looked at it, for it and to it really looks the way that I have been what feels like trying to force it. I need to release this dream in the way I think it looks or “should” look now to make rom for what wants to grow. I need to create space in my life, in my head by releasing the way it’s been pictured to allow for what it really is.. And that is exciting and scary all at once!

What do you need to make space for?

2013 Visions and Heart Resolutions

IMG_9210

Hey Beautiful Souls!

The image above is my 2013 Vision Board! This last year I have done a lot more visioning then in the years past, and this year I plan on increasing it even more! However I still love the ritual of starting out the year with a vision board to guide and inspire me throughout the year.

So while some images my speak for themselves, I will share with you what some of these things mean!

  • My word this year is Expand, so Expand your horizons has layers of meanings for me, including traveling and planning for trips. Several open arm images depict this word/feeling as well
  • I would like to be working from home “full-time”
  • I want to really deepen my Yoga practice to another level, that was a dream/goal of mine in 2012 and I did from where I was however wanting to take it even further this. (I will let you in on something I really want to enroll in Yoga Teacher Training this year, if finances allow, it’s a dream I have had for years. Ready to really commit to it differently than before!)
  • Lots of Creativity, Connection, Self Expression
  • Nourishing my body (mind and soul too) with what it really craves

This years heart resolutions are:

Brave

Healing

Connection

Purposeful

Trust

Confidence

Open

Spaciousness ( a theme  -Creating Space that has been coming up for me a lot the last 6 months or more. )

Curious what Heart Resolutions are? Check out the PDF here

6 things I want to learn- Journal Prompt

IMG_9103

Hey Beautiful Souls!

I love learning, I really do. There is so much goodness out there (and inside of us!) that is easy to feel simply overwhelmed and shut down to it all. So let’s make it as small or as big as feels right for you!

What are 6 things you want to learn this year? (every 2 months, totally doable if you don’t put other people’s expectations ahead of your own!)

My 6 things are:

1-To make Sushi (I swear I have had this on some list or another for a while, but this year is it!)

2-How to do the basics with my sewing machine

3-Create artwork on my iPhone and iPad, with photos some without just to play!

4-Do this pose, without falling over or pulling something ;)

5-Use spices in my cooking

6-Successfully publish an eBook, I think it’s actually fairly straightforward with the kindle however, it’s easy to think that when you are not trying to do it at the moment!

Those are 6 things I would love to learn though hopefully I will learn lots of other great stuff! What about you, what do you want to learn?

Learning to Loosen the Grip- Soul Musings

Hey Inspiring Souls!

Todays blog post really is from my Soul and from my Heart. It’s not an easy post for me as it feels like I am putting myself out there a bit more than I am totally comfy with and it’s having to be honest with myself about some things (not usually a fun task but so needed!)

Recently I have had conversations with a few people about loosening the grip in certain areas of their lives, relationships, views of success and how things “should” be to any other number of things. Oh how easy it is to see in others and not so much ourselves at first. But I have not stopped thinking about it and where I am really doing that in my life and how it may not be serving me and probably is harming more than “protecting” me.

Let me explain what I mean by loosening the grip. We (I) can often hold onto things, ideas, relationships and how they used to be, goals etc.. I can often hold on so tightly that I don’t allow room or even refuse to look at what they are or what they could be. The way I explained it to my sister the other day is lets say I have something I really want to do that I know will be good in my life and lets say I needed $100 to make it happen or to really start the process. I am mad, upset, with my fist clenched saying “If I only had that $100 I would be able to…..) All the while not even allowing room or possibility for the fact that if I opened my fist just a bit I would realize I was holding on to that $100 and didn’t realize it because I was so busy telling myself it was supposed to come in a different way or timing.

I would be totally blocking what is and what could be for what I thought it should be, and if i just would be willing to loosen my grip even just a tiny bit I would see what was and what could be.

I have found several ways (probably lots of ways) I have been doing this in my life, and frankly it’s not fun to admit it. I would much rather blame everyone and everything else on why this or that isn’t where I want it to be where it “Should” be. One huge way I have been doing this is in a few family relationships. These relationships have shifted so much over the last year to year and  a half and I have found myself having a really difficult time allowing room to build them from where they are because I still feel wounded that they are not where they should be. I have been gripping on so tight I have had a difficult time allowing them to heal and then reveal what is or what could be.

This gripping has also shown up in my finances, health and my ability to really build up my Soul Biz ( the work I do here) I am slowly (some faster than others) learning to loosen the grip and allow for healing, truth and authenticity. (My coaching prices and packages being another area) It’s not easy or comfortable but it’s very necessary in order for me to live, create and open to the kind of life I truly want to and am meant to live. And frankly continuing to live in a state of constant “fist gripping” is toxic and I will not continue to do that to myself!

Where do you need to loosen your grip to open for what is and what could be?

Thanks for listening to my Soul Musings

This Month I want to… Journal Prompt

Hey Inspiring Souls!

It’s just about November ( going by scary fast!) With so much hustle and bustle starting this month for many of us I always find it grounding and helpful to look at what I really want from that (day week and in this case month)

This month:

I want to feel

Experience

Savor

Let go of

Accomplish

My responses…

I want to feel: Peaceful, Purposeful, energetic

Experience: Openness, Clarity ,Gratitude and  Joy

Savor: The amazing classes and learning that I am blessed to be diving in to. As well as Thanksgiving and my 17 year anniversary! (and also a no guild veg day!)

Let go of: Another layer (or layers) of frustration, more stuff (physical stuff, as I am wanting to create space)

Accomplish: My list of calls, follow ups and most important tasks!

5 Actions- Journal Prompt

Hey Inspiring Souls!

This weeks Journal Prompt is one to help get us into action in creating the life we want to live. No action is too small, it all matters!

Ask yourself: What are 5 Actions I could take with in the next 2 weeks that would help me create the life I want to live? (And they don’t have to be related to the same dream or goal)

My responses are:

1-Finish reading Soul Space

2-Decide on an out of comfort zone” recipe and try it (this could have been its own 5 response from finding the recipe, to getting the stuff for it and so on)

3-Make the follow-up call(s) I need to make

4-Take time each day to create, even if just for 5 minutes

5-Spend a total of 1.5-2 hours decluttering

Again, most of these could be broken way down and each one could be its own 5 actions. So do what works for you, if choosing 1 thing and 5 small action steps to work your way toward it feels right then do that!
