  • Self-Care (we will make it easy and doable)
  • Creating space for what matters
  • And more…

A tribute to my Dad…my greatest teacher

Hey Lovely Souls,

It’s with the deepest and most intense sadness that I share my Father passed away last week. And even though I (along with my eldest sister) was there in the room when it happened (unexpectedly to us) It still feels like it’s not fully real.

He was (is) my biggest teacher and is my greatest loss. Our family is devastated.

My tribute to him will be formed in a letter of sorts to him. It’s the way that feels the most aligned to me…

Dear Dad,

Thank you for teaching me in so many ways, intentionally and in leading by example.  Thank You for a instilling a love of learning, the power of curiosity and what being a life long student/seeker look like. You have been my greatest teacher and always will be.

Thank you for showing me what it was to be open-minded, forgiving,  hard working and deeply loving.

Thank  You for showing me the value of humor and allowing your inner silliest, funniest, goofiest self to come to the surface in your everyday moments and our interactions.

Thank you for loving so deeply, teaching and giving so freely. You were and are an amazing, sweet, kind and beautiful soul.

Thank you for defying the odds so many times and giving us more time with you. The truth is it would never be enough, I am grateful for all we had while still longing for more, even just a little.

You were center and soul of this family, there is a huge void where you were that will never be filled. You were our steel coated marshmallow (seemingly tough on the outside, soft on the inside).

May I live a life that honors all you have taught me and will continue to teach me.

I love you Daddy.

Music- Self and Soul Care Saturday

Hey,  Beautiful Souls!

Music is really powerful and it can be so good for the Soul! I noticed that I get caught up in the noise, the hum of everyday life (and that can be chaotic, stressful and beautiful sometimes all at once!)  For some of us it’s the tune, others it’s mostly the words ( that’s me.. I listen to all types if i like the message!)

This week’s Self and Soul Care Saturday action is to: Listen to music. Maybe you have some on your phone, maybe you need to log into YouTube or Amazon prime music, Pandora or any other number of ways to get music!

Choose a song or two or even three! Lean into the mood of the music, close your eyes and really listen, get up and dance if that’s what you feel moved to do…

What music moves you?

5 ways and questions for End of Year Reflection

Hey Beautiful Souls!

We are at that time of year where many of us like to start reflecting on the  year coming to a close within the weeks ahead.

These are ideas and prompts I will be digging into starting this week  > 5 Ways and Questions to use for reflection. Ok it’s really more than 5 technically!

  1. Write a letter to the  year. Dear 2016….I have done this in years past and really loved it as a way to sort of wrap up my year.
  2. Gather pictures captured throughout your year and make a video, collage or photo book out of them.
  3.  The word i chose for 2016 was, the word/feeling that really showed up was (or ways that word showed up if you feel like you were present to your word)
  4. This year I…. Grew, rocked, released, avoided, struggled with, loved, lost, learned.
  5. What might I be hanging onto from this year that I am ready to let go of before 2017, My 5 biggest takeaways from this year are…

Do you have any favorite prompts or ways to reflect on your  year?
