Get it done (or at least started!)- Weekend Empowerment Challenge

Hey Lovely Souls!

If you are anything like me, you have some (or a lot!) of stuff that sort of lingers in the space of it needs to be done or I really want to do it and I don’t have the time, space, energy, money etc…

We forget that we have to make it ourselves! I have a list of things that are undone, that linger and tug at me, yet I have not made the time to just get them done or at least started.

That’s my challenge to you this weekend. Start or complete something that has been bugging you, something you have put off. Ok technically the intention for these was to complete something each weekend. But if it’s just not feasible for this prompt then that’s ok the intention is to start to shift the energy around that project, task etc..

It’s likely as soon as you see this post something will come to mind. If it doesn’t however, I have some ideas to spark your list.

Take that donation stuff and drop it off, get the haircut (that’s mine this weekend!), Make that call, try that recipe, get the lab work done or scheduled,  write that post, work on that class, choose the date, print the photos, start the memory keeping project (perfectly imperfect!)

Are you in? What’s your get it done or start it this weekend?

Here is to living your days with intention,

Life IS a special occasion- Weekend Empowerment Challenge

Weekend empowerment challenge

Hey Beautiful Souls,

Welcome to the weekend Empowerment Challenge! This weekends challenge is to:

Use something that you have been saving for a special occasion. Life IS that special occasion. Many of us tend to hang onto so many things that we are saving for that “special” occasion.

Your life is a special occasion. The things you have made it through, created, learned this year are things to celebrate!

Maybe for you it’s those fancy dishes, outfit or accessory that is just for “dressing up”, the journal you want to have the perfect words or images to put in.

My challenge to  you is to use something even a little tiny something this weekend. If that thing you have is something you really can’t use right now, my challenge to you is to plan something where you can use it (plan it this weekend!)

Remember , this is for you, so it does not matter if you are “overdressed” to go to the diner or to run your usual weekend errands, it doesn’t matter if the meal on those dishes is for 1. Choose something and just go for it!

Infuse Intention into your weekend (or week) – Friday 5

Hey Wonderful Souls!

The weekend is upon us (though these ideas can be used any day!) and I know that if I don’t have at least a bit of an idea, intention in my week or weekend that I can just spend the time reacting to whatever instead of responding and being intentional. When I do that I always feel drained and annoyed about it. So here are 5 ways to infuse your week(end) with intention.

  1. Create a list, if it’s the weekend then create what I used to call “weekend wanna” list. What do you want to do, explore, feel, accomplish? This can be really simple, try not to flood yourself with expectations.
  2. Plan something ahead of time, look around at what’s happening locally, plan to spend time in your yard or on your balcony.
  3. Create something, a meal, a journal page, a photograph…
  4. Notice how you are feeling, what your breath is like, where your shoulders are (as in are they up by your ears?!)
  5. Look at those you love and those you are interacting with, put down your phone for a moment and really listen, engage.

How will you infuse your day, weekend with intention?

June- Journal Prompt

Hey, Inspiring Souls!

As I always say time is flying by. I am still in shock (and some dread for various reasons) about June being just about here.

I am working on getting back to being more mindful of what my month might look and feel like.

That’s my question for you too.

What do I want from this month?

If you are interested in getting more specific, here is a link to a PDF with some additional prompts for your month (feel free to print it, glue it and fill it out or just grab the prompts you want and put them in your journal or planner)

Thoughts on the rest of this year… and embracing what you need

Hey Beautiful Souls,

For some, this time of year might feel magical, full of hope and reflection. For others, for whatever reason (loss of a loved one, finance issues, family stress etc…) this might not feel like anything but something else you have to get through…

So here’s what I think many of us need… and truly we can only get it from ourselves but sometimes having others remind us that it’s not just you, you are not alone and that what you are feeling is legit and you are worthy no matter what, well sometimes that’s what we need a permission of sorts.

Do the holidays your way as much as you can, just because you have always done something a certain way doesn’t mean that it feels right for you and yours this year. Honor what you most need and leave the rest as much as you can.

I have been used to doing all sorts of reflection at the end of the year… I am not doing that this year. I will stick with a few traditions/prompts and leave the rest until next year, or the year after that or maybe never… I will decide as I come to it. I am going to say it again… Do what feels right for YOU and when appropriate you and yours. For this year, I am only writing a letter to the year, instead of doing the type of vision board I have done in the past I am creating an inspiration/vision board that supports my core desired feelings (something similar that I have done for years and years but supported and inspired more deeply by Danielle LaPorte’s process)

I will be continuing to create space, choose a word (or words) to support me in the year to come, I will choose just a few focuses on what I really want to create, instead of a bunch of ones to fill up space, I will likely continue to collect more journals, books and art supplies that I will use in that year, I will continue to allow space for the tenderness of grief and the tenderness of allowing my truth to unfold, I will work on connecting to the small bits of beauty and practices that support me and I will also likely let overwhelm, uknowns and other stuff get me down for a while, then I will get back up. I will continue to ponder how to live the lessons and hopefully, in that pondering, I will be living some of those lessons full out… I will give myself grace and I will likely be too hard on myself and overthink sometimes too… I will remind myself that I am held, guided and supported even if doesn’t look the way I thought it would.

So, trust yourself, forgive yourself, show up for yourself and allow what it is you need to guide you right now. And give yourself permission to fully embrace your contradictions.
