Truth check in – Mindful Moment Monday

Hey Beautiful Soul,

I find that so often as we go about life and all it holds that we can into autopilot mode even with ourselves and our thoughts.

When was the last time that you slowed down, stopped even and checked in with yourself? Take a moment today (or several times today, or daily!) and ask yourself the following. A Truth Check in of sorts…

  • How am I feeling physically, hows my body feeling. What feels good and what is feeling out of whack, stiff, uncomfortable?
  • How am I feeling emotionally? Really, truthfully how am I feeling. (with this one I encourage you to expand upon the usual response fine, good, ok… and go a bit deeper. Tender, raw, joyful, anxious, chaotic, peaceful, open, exhausted) etc… us as many as you need. Some of them may seem like they conflict, embrace that.
  • Truthfully what do I need right now (from myself, from this moment, this day etc…)

Environment Check in- Mindful Moment Monday

Hey Beautiful Souls!

Our environment hold more influence than we often realize. I know for me when life or my head get chaotic, my environment reflects that.

Today, I encourage you to stop for a moment and take a look around a space or several spaces you are in often. How does it feel? Does it support what you want to feel and how you want to be?

If not, what is one tiny thing you can shift?

Ask yourself- Mindful Moment Monday

Hey Beautiful People,

One of the things i am learning more about and desiring more of in my life is mindfulness. One of the ways i try and do that is by asking myself questions to check in with myself, my body, my intentions.

For this mindful moment Monday I would like to share a few I ask myself…

  1. Where are my shoulders right now? I often find that when I take a moment to check in that in moments of frustration or stress that they like to “hang out’ up by my ears! This gives me a change to shift that, by relaxing them.
  2. Where am I focusing my energy right now? This is one I ask in various forms, but put this simple way is really powerful. You might notice that the energy is on stress, what’s undone, shoulds. If we stay stuck in that energy it’s harder for us to put energy into what we want to create and experience and feel.

60 second check in – Mindful Moment Monday

Hey Beautiful Soul!

I think that many of us, myself included. Hold so much within ourselves that we are not even aware of so much of the time.  Fear for example, sometimes are focus is on fear more than we realize, yet we have not stopped to check in we are just reacting instead of responding to what really needs tending to.

Today, right now as you are reading this. Stop and ask yourself:

Is my focus on fear or is it on faith?

Senses- Mindful Moment Monday

Hey Beautiful Souls!

I feel like time is zipping by so fast, I sometimes feel as if I haven’t had a chance to slow down to really notice the things around me, to engage my senses most days. The truth is, life is zipping by fast, but it’s really about not making this engaging more of a priority (at least that’s true for me)

So this week I would love for you (and myself of course!) to slow down and engage our senses a bit…

What do I hear

What do I see

What do I smell

What can I touch, how does it feel?

What can I taste (one bite of something you eat this week, slow down and really notice the flavor, the texture)

Tending to- Mindful Moment Monday

Hey Beautiful Soul!

Lately, my body has been giving me some powerful messages. It’s been trying to tell me something for a while, I just was too scattered to listen. Until I had to listen.

I was slow on the uptake this time, even though I know better and have a belief that our lives and bodies are constantly communicating with us.

I wan to start asking myself this question each week, maybe each day (or several times a day!)

What needs tending to right now? I want to ask that of my life, but I want to slow down, close my eyes and ask my body that. And I want to listen instead of allowing the next to do to take over.

Right now, today, this week ask yourself, ask your body: What needs tending to? Then stop and listen for the answer.

Tension- Mindful Moment Monday

Hey Beautiful You!

Most of us at some point during the day or week are holding onto stress, expectations and our bodies are holding the tension. We may not even realize it at first (sadly many of us live in that state so often it feels familiar)

Right now, today, this week. Notice… where are you holding the tension in your body? 

I know often for me I notice that my shoulders are way up by my ears. I often don’t even realize it at first. Another place I tend to hold on to tension is in my belly.

Take a moment (or many moments, or moments throughout the day and week) and ask yourself, notice where you are holding onto tension.  Then give yourself a moment to breathe and relax.
