Affirmations- Self and Soul Care Saturday

Hey, Beautiful Souls!

We often, without even realizing it are speaking words of defeat and negativity to ourselves, about ourselves. Our words, even when “said” in our own heads have so much power.

A beautiful act of self-care is saying affirming things to yourself… Ask yourself what you need… words of comfort, reassurance, empowerment?

Here are a few to get you started, feel free of course to tweak or add any words that feel more aligned with what you are seeking to affirm. Also, you can google affirmations or affirmations for….

  • You’ve got this (and if you can say this while looking in the mirror)
  • I am guided, I am held (eyes closed, hand on heart)
  • I commit to the me I truly desire to be
  • My body is a wise advisor, I listen to what is being said with curiosity and compassion
  • This to shall pass

Affirm Trust- Inspired Words

unnamed

Hey Beautiful!

For many of us, things are shifting externally and internally. It’s times like these we need to take a deep breath and remind ourselves gently of truths we need to hear..

One that I have had on “repeat” lately is..

I trust that I am guided and I am held.

Can you lean into that desire, that deep knowing of this? Just even for a moment?

Creative Prompt… Affirmation Card

Hey Creative Souls!

I have talked about my new-ish found love of doing Index Card Collages, I showed you some examples in this post. What I realized Sunday night with one I created is that it’s an affirmation card (shown in image) . I would say that my collages and journal pages often have that sort of spin on them but not always.. This month I am navigating some decisions and changes and this card is really positive and affirming in this process.

So I thought I would encourage you to do the same type of thing. You can go into this with an intention, something in mind that you want to affirm. You can also go into it with an open mind and just choose what feels right to you.

Here are the steps:

1- Choose your surface. I do my index cared collages on 4×6 cards, you can find 5×8 , 3×5 and really any other size or surface you would like.

2-gather supplies ( images, words, extra papers (with pretty patterns if you would like) , glue stick and scissors

3-Pull out a few things and start playing around with the set up… often if you don’t have a theme in mind it will emerge for you! *Tip: I take a picture of my collage once i have it the way I want and before I glue it, helps you remember where you put everything.

4-Remember it’s what feels right to you. In mine I have several words/phrases, images and some paper to fill in the blank spots. For you it may be all images that feel affirming, it may be all words.

5-Give yourself the time to do this for yourself. If you are not used to working on that type of surface or in this way, be gentle with yourself. This is for you, so make it something you love! I suggest setting aside 30 minutes if you can to do this project.

You may find once you get one going you can’t stop ( that happened to my sister Sheila, she was not sure that the size would really work for her but once she was going she did half a dozen more.) But the one you do may be just enough for you and that is totally great as well!

As always I would love it if you shared with me what you create!

Doubt.. Tea Tag Wisdom

Hey Inspiring Souls! I don’t think I have done this one before, if I have it’s been a while so here it is regardless!

Our doubt ( AKA: The negative, self doubting, voices in our heads) have more power over us then we often think at first. This to me does not mean that if we have any doubts at all we will never be happy ever, more that the more we release those doubts the more of those layers we peel back. Happiness is revealed. We are in control of much more than we think we are often times. Once you make up your mind to listen to that self talk and doubt, you will start to notice it more, then you can start to shift it. Choose something more positive and affirming.
