Lettuce stamps and feathers – In my journal…

In my journal…

Hey inspiring Souls..

I thought I would share some bits I have done in my journal(s) this week. None of these took much time but I am happy with the results!

1)      As I was cutting off the bottom of the lettuce the other day for dinner, I happen to notice that the pattern in made was pretty, so after dinner I dried it a bit, squeezed out a little paint and dipped it in there. Then I stamped all over the page.  This only took about 5-10 minutes if that!  I could leave it like this or I could add other layers (of paint, words or images).

2)      These little pages were done while waiting for hubby the other day. The one to the right is done with found bits. Feather, Paint color card, a doily and a little bit of paper from a list I made the other day.

Waiting… In My Journal

Hey Inspiring Souls!

I was waiting on hubby the other day while he was working hard and since I had a little down time I thought why not fill it with some journal play!

While at home i have a ton (like overkill) amount of images and collage stuff I often like being a little bit more limited like I am when I use my creativity to go kit.

We can fill that open space with mindless phone gazing (totally “guilty” of this very often) or we can fill it with something that in turn fills us (and if that is phone gazing for you, that’s great!)

Another way I intentionally limit myself when creating pages is to challenge myself to create a page out of one magazine. So find the words and or images I want just from one magazine. Even times when I would be ready to recycle it, I would look again and often find a little something or entire pages worth.

Waiting doesn’t have to be boring!

Black and White- In My Journal

Hey Inspiring Souls!

For this page I started with the flower image on the left. Glued it down and then from there decided to go with a black and white theme (and all from one magazine) I find little challenges like this to help me look at things a bit differently.

The right page with the snippet from an article served as sort of a black out poetry type of thing. I circled words that I liked in there.

I could have gone other ways with this one. I could have left the image and written a quote, word or thoughts under it, I could have added in some bits of color by using markers or paint to the sort of sketch look of this, I could have simply added any other images color or black and white to see what theme, message etc. emerged.

What’s in your journal lately? Do you have any type of tips you are looking for or have pages from your journal? I would love to hear them and see them!

Dear 2014..

Hey Inspiring Souls.. Every year around this time I write a letter to the year coming to a close.

I encourage you to do the same.. Use words, Your pictures or simply a list..

Dear 2014,

First, Thank You. Thank You for all you gave me and taught me. Though I didn’t always enjoy the way the lesson was represented I do appreciate the lessons that I have been able to learn and the ones that I am still “chewing on”.

You felt like a couple of years of emotions and decisions at the same time you felt like you just flew right by me!

The word that I chose for you was “Flow”. That showed up in some really lovely ways and yet didn’t seem to make an appearance in other ways that had hoped and maybe even expected (hmm maybe that was part of the problem!)

Some of the ways “flow” showed up is in my Soul Work, Inspiration, and Opportunities to listen and to see.

Decisions were made some small and some HUGE!

You held Layers of realizations and healing. (And the realization that there are many more layers to reveal and heal)

You held hurt and you held hope.

You held confusion and you held clarity.

You held so much beauty within the chaos may I continue to be open to that every single day.

You held so much release and so much holding on..

It occurs to me that the way that Flow showed up in you was much like the waves of the ocean flowing in and flowing out. Sometimes they were gentle and sometimes they were felt too strong, too powerful. Ready to suck you in or sweep sweetly over you.

2014 you taught me that small steps matter, to keep showing up, to be open but stand my ground, to forgive… again and to trust myself a little bit more.

As I step excitedly and even a bit nervously into what is next for 2015 may all that is no longer mine to carry be lifted from me and may I have the courage to lean into what is mine to create, accomplish, learn, teach and discover.

Thank You
