Brain-dump- Journal Prompt

Hey Lovely Souls!

Something I do every week, most weeks a few times at least , is a Brain dump. For those of you that don’t know a brain-dump is a list of the stuff that’s in your head (and heart) that’s tugging at you, bugging you, things you need to do, think you should do, want to do (look up, accomplish, try , create etc)

There is actually no wrong way to do this. It’s essentially a tool, a container to help you create a little bit of space in your head.

  • Grab your journal, a napkin, scrap piece of paper or notes app
  • Grab something to write with
  • optional set a timer for 5-10 minutes
  • “dump” out whatever is on your mind… no rules, particular order or priority. Just simply get it out of you head.
  • Revisit if needed another time or day. Sometimes there will be things you will want to take action on. Many times it’s simply just a landing spot to clear some space. Let it be whatever it is… Don’t over think.. and go!

Morning Rituals/Routines -Journal Prompt

Hey Beautiful Souls!

How do you start your mornings? With intention or distraction? This weeks in your journal, I encourage you to ponder just that. I also invite you to list some things you would like to add into your morning routine/rituals. This is not you committing to it, you are simply creating a wish list of practices/things you want to have in your morning. If you feel called to, choose one thing and decide how you wan to add it in.

Our mornings often can help set the tone for the day.

A few random ideas to get the ideas flowing..

Movement (dance, yoga, walking, boxing)

Empowered Caregiver, Inspired Living

9 ways a notebook/journal can support your care-giving journey- Empowered Care taking

Hey Wonderful Soul! These tips are geared towards my fellow caregivers out there, but most of them could be used by anyone. Here are 9 ways to use a journal/notebook to support your care-giving journey.

  1. Vent, it’s perfectly ok to spew out your frustrations. Especially if you don’t feel you have anyone who get’s it.. sometimes just getting it out of your head helps one feel calmer.
  2. Gratitude, sometimes finding that gratitude will feel like an excavation. Try and express it anyways.. One thing in depth, a list of 2-5 things, doodle it (maybe it’s that cup of… or the sun-shining or a good day for your loved one)
  3. Doodle, you DO NOT have to have any (like zero, zilch) drawing skills to doodle. Just create spirals, draw bits from your day to day (remember embrace imperfection here)
  4. Write your favorite quotes or song lyrics
  5. Write down your wins from that day or week. (and they can be seemingly tiny)
  6. Make a list of what things you need to do, want to look into, follow up on.
  7. Track your loved ones symptoms, behaviors etc..
  8. Make a list of self care actions you can take. (even in a few minutes a day, deep breaths, music, gratitude, creativity etc..)
  9. Glue in pictures, images from magazines, words you are drawn to.. this is a space, budget and time friendly way to engage in creativity on the regular.

I will leave the list at that for this post, though I could probably go on!

Essentially you really can’t do the journal/notebook thing wrong.  Choose one or a few ideas that you are drawn to and start there. It also doesn’t need to be anything fancy… The journal can be a composition notebook, spiral bound “cheap” one, pretty journal, blank book.. anything goes!

Messages Lately- Journal Prompt

Hey Inspiring Soul!

With life so often noisy, busy and distracting… It’s easy not to hear or see what messages are showing up in our own lives.

This week I invite you to spend a little time with your journal and slow down to listen and to see.

Ask yourself..

What messages are showing up in my life lately? (this might be in the form of music, symbols, cravings, words, pain, joy etc… )

What is in my way… Journal Prompt

Hey Lovely Soul!

When it comes to being more in alignment with ourselves, our truths, values ,dreams and desires there can be a thousand excuses as to why we are not more so.

I encourage you to get real and name it!

What is standing in my way of living in more alignment with myself?

Really responding to this prompt can be really empowering and frustrating.  Frustrating because we will often see it’s excuses not real legit reasons and that we are stopping ourselves.. Empowering because we will see that we have much more of the power to shift it (through revealing and healing) than we realized.
