Brain-dump- Journal Prompt

Hey Lovely Souls!

Something I do every week, most weeks a few times at least , is a Brain dump. For those of you that don’t know a brain-dump is a list of the stuff that’s in your head (and heart) that’s tugging at you, bugging you, things you need to do, think you should do, want to do (look up, accomplish, try , create etc)

There is actually no wrong way to do this. It’s essentially a tool, a container to help you create a little bit of space in your head.

  • Grab your journal, a napkin, scrap piece of paper or notes app
  • Grab something to write with
  • optional set a timer for 5-10 minutes
  • “dump” out whatever is on your mind… no rules, particular order or priority. Just simply get it out of you head.
  • Revisit if needed another time or day. Sometimes there will be things you will want to take action on. Many times it’s simply just a landing spot to clear some space. Let it be whatever it is… Don’t over think.. and go!

It might be fun… Journal Prompt

Hey Inspiring Souls!

You may know or have guessed by now is that I love lists! One I started recently was a list of random things it may be fun to checkout, do or engage in.

So that is this weeks prompt to ask yourself:

What are some random things it might be fun to do, explore or engage in

This prompt is not one of pressure, this is not a list of goals you don’t have to set a date for it. It’s just a fun way to explore and name some random things you may want to explore one day (in the future, soon) It could reveal something interesting, a pattern or just could be fun! Put no pressure or judgement on it just let it flow!

A few things on my list:

-Get my palms read, I just think it would be a funky and interesting thing to do

-Go Kayaking

-Learn to Surf

-Put a bright color streak in my hair

-Get back into jewelry making a bit

-Go to Big Sur

Those are just some random things I may want to explore. What about you?

10 Inspiring things to do while you are watching TV

Hey Creative Souls!

I have a list of things that I call TV projects. The thing is there are shows I really like to watch and a selected few that I will not do anything else while they are on (as they are intense and it’s confusing if I don’t pay attention) But if you are anything like me you live with someone(s) in my case my hubby who watches a bit more TV then you do and sometimes has shows on you don’t care all that much about seeing. However you want to sit with them but feel like sometimes there is a slightly better use of your time that could be happening. In comes TV Projects.

I have started a list of 10 things to do while watching TV and of course I invite you to create (and share) your own list!

1-Sort through magazines and take out images that inspire you, articles you want to read, collage images/words

2-Organize your photos

3-Create: Collage, Doodle, Draw, make a necklace, knit, embroider or anything else!

4-Process a photo on your phone, play around with your apps and do something funky and creative on it

5-Write a letter

6-Cuddle

7-Organize Files

8-Digital Declutter (on your computer, phone etc) go through email, delete pictures on your phone you don’t want etc..

9-Make lists, oh how i love lists. You can make braindump lists, grocery lists, things you want to let go of lists, undones, would love to do’s and dreams lists

10-Inspiration “hunt” from magazines (see #1) glue articles, looks, colors and anything else that inspires you into any journal =Your Inspiration Journal, browse on pinterest (they have an app)

There are some of my ideas, what about you?

36 while I am 36-The reveal!

Hey Beautiful Souls!

Last year I did a 35 while 35 list, I accomplished about 15 of them so less than half but some of the ones I did accomplish were very meaningful to me, so I suppose it all evens out. There were some that simply changed, I had no desire to do so as things went along in the year. I tried to be more mindful of that this list! So here is my 36 while 36 list.

1-Do a guest series on an inspiring blog!

2-Photo book with personal add ons like this one

3-Do a week in the life project again!

4-Create floating bookshelves, love the look of these

5-Large watercolor paisley

6-Go to a cafe and visual journal

7-Try a new recipe a month

8-Go see a sunrise on the beach

9-Try embroidery

10-Teach a class in person

11-Make a Mala

12-Complete, Inner Excavation

13-Get and learn Photoshop

14-Mix my own perfume

15- Take  2 classes online that I have been wanting to take

16-Be working from home full-time

17-Explore poetry a bit

18-Go to a local place that has belly dancing on Saturdays to watch

19-Do a self-portrait a month

20-Create and publish an E-book

21-Be a tourist for the day where I live

22-Start the journey to being financially empowered

(mindful spending, educating myself where I need to, paying down debt, living on a budget)

23-Learn my Instax really well

24-Join a community Garden

25-Launch a website that with my own URL with all the features I really want

26-Do 1 thing a month to get out of my comfort zone

27-Give up something for a month

5 Ways...

5 Ways to… To use lists

Hey Inspiring Souls!

I may have mentioned before I really love lists! I know I am not the one! So I thought I would list 5 ways to use lists.

1-To Keep you on track daily, weekly monthly or yearly.

2-To Inspire you into action, remind you what inspires you.

3-To vent, list the things that are annoying you, frustrations let it all out

4-To keep grateful, if you have a list of gratitude to go to when you are having those down days it can give you a nice reminder of all the good even if it feels like there is only bad surrounding you at the moment.

5-To get to know yourself, you can write a list using a prompt to list your values, likes, dislikes, hearts desires, things about you..

I hope this gives you another way to use your lists in a way that will inspire you!

Summer Dreams and plans…

Hey Creative Souls!

It’s summertime , can you believe it? Time goes by so fast. For every new season I like to make a list of what dreams and goals I have that season. That way I can at least try to soak in the season mindfully!

Here is my summer list, I tried to make it short and sweet, of course there are other things I would love to do but my main list is as follows!

-Go on a  picnic

-Read 4 books (a mix of fiction, spirituality and inspiration!)

-Go to the beach and play, take photos, stick my toes in the water and sand.. just pure  fun!

-A full check in day for my dreams and plans, a total day off to just sink into it.

-Dive into online classes, a new one that I signed up for and 2 that are a work at your own pace that I would like to work on some more.

How about you, what are your summer dreams and plans?

Hey Inspiring souls..

I can NOT believe that it’s been a year already since I posted the list below.. Time goes by so so fast these days doesn’t it? Next week I will be posting a new  list for a 35 while I am 35, but before I do that I wanted to do a check in for what I did and did not accomplish in the last year.. I mention in the original post that I will not beat myself up for what is not done.. And I will not, though there are things that I can’t believe I did ever get to in that time.. and some rather important ones. But I made good progress and there is a list of things that I did not have on this list that are things I am really proud of doing ( including self publishing my prompted journal )  Here is the list, the ones I have done I crossed out.. And I should mention that there are a few on the list that I may het get done in the few days after I post this list and before my birthday! (If only it was the lose weight one LOL!) On to the list!

Before I am 35….

Fill an Art Journal or two or…

-Be at a healthier weight, I would like to lose about 30lbs

-Take a few belly dance classes , to see if I like it as much as I think I will!

-Take advantage of some of the cool stuff my town has. ( that is a different list! ) Still much to explore but did take advantage of some stuff!

-Have done 2 projects out of 2 different books I have, or more.. but these 2 books have great , great ideas and something that would be different for me to do.

-Mentor someone

-Learn to make sushi

-Have a regular yoga practice

-Paint a canvas See image above!

-Bake something from scratch ( just to say I can! now my version of baking from scratch is scratching open a slice and bake package of cookies!)

-Have my apartment fully organized, really this time!

-Have my apartment decorated the way I like it!

-Participate in a charity walk

-Do 1 thing that scares the #!%& out of me!

I am proud of myself for the things i have done and excited about going on to the 35 while I am 35 list that I will share with you very soon. I try to look at these as not written in stone but as inspiration!
