Play- Self and Soul Care Saturday

Hi Amazing one!

When was the last time that you played? No seriously, when was it? Chances are it’s been a while!

Playing is an amazing stress reliever! Just do yourself a favor, go in with no real expectations, no results needed. Just simply play!

Play will look different for each of us in some ways I am sure, however here are some ideas.

  1. Blow bubbles… (yup, with that little wand and that messy liquid just. Play “bonus” points if you chase after or try to catch some of them!
  2. Get $5 and some kids art supplies and make a mess, explore watercolor, fingerpaint, doodle, get crayons and some paper and do rubbings of random things you find!
  3. Play with your food… feel like swirling up your ice cream, crushing up your cookies in your milk, having a mini food fight… go for it!
  4. Get some sidewalk chalk and make a hopscotch pattern or play a giant game of tic tac toe!
  5. Warm enough outside, engage in a water balloon “fight” still rainy and “funky” outside.. jump in a puddle of water or mud!
  6. Go to a thrift store and gather several crazy, out of your style items and play dress up!
  7. Read a fun book out loud in various voices.
  8. Chase your shadow, make shadow puppets, take a picture of the funniest or biggest shadow you can capture!
  9. Get on a swing, kick your feet in the sand!

Time Friendly Self Care- Friday 5

Hey Inspiring Souls!

I know that for many of the people I have interacted with in my groups and life in general one thing that I think stops us from engaging in self-care is that we feel that we need to carve out an hour, hours or a day to really engage in it.

While I really really encourage you to consider doing that on a regular even if not super frequent basis. I am a huge advocate of self-care that is time friendly.

Here are some ideas..

  1. Take a deep, deep breath.. inhale and then let it out with a sigh..
  2. Set a time for 1-5 minutes and just brain dump.. what’s on your mind and heart?
  3. Put on something that makes you feel like you, don’t wait for a special occasion (we are in one, it’s called life!) even if you are staying in for the day or not going anywhere “exciting” rock something that feels like you. Not sure what does? Experiment a little!
  4. Grab a glass of water, staying hydrated is so important but we often neglect it. I personally like to add a little lemon to mine every now and again!
  5. Listen to a favorite song, close your eyes and soak it in. Or depending on the song.. belt out the lyrics (even if it’s off key and not all the right words) along with the song!

What if.. Soul Musings

What if…

Hey Beautiful Souls!

Far too often the disempowering, negative  “What if’s are running through my head. When I notice this happening too much I try and combat it with what feel like Empowered and soulful what if’s. The kind that have hope wrapped up in them! Here are some of the what if’s I am soaking in.. Maybe you need them too. (as with any of my stuff, take what you connect with and leave what you don’t)

  • What if you trusted your truth more than your fear?
  • What if you said yes instead of no?
  • What if you said no instead of yes?
  • What if you looked for evidence of abundance instead of lack?
  • What if you treated self/soul care like an important appointment that could not be missed (because it is!)
  • What if you filled an entire page with things you are grateful and inspired by
  • What if you looked yourself in the eyes and spoke what you appreciate about yourself
  • What if you showed up anyways
  • What if you allowed yourself to be done (for good or for now)
  • What if you gave yourself permission to…
  • What if you gave your body what it needed to feel nourished
  • What if you looked at yourself and those you love through a lens of a little more kindness
  • What if you acknowledged that setting and keeping your boundaries is an act of love for you and for others. Even when it feels gut wrenching hard to do.

What are your what if’s?
